TNUSRB SI Selection Process 2025
The TNUSRB SI Selection Process 2025 is designed to assess the candidate by different processes in order to choose the best among them. It includes a written test, physical tests, and viva-voce. Every process is a vital step towards ascertaining the ultimate merit of the candidates.
Tamil Language Eligibility Test
The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is a qualifying exam with 100 objective questions for 100 marks, held over 100 minutes. A minimum of 40 marks (40%) is required to qualify. The test norms are the same for both departmental and open candidates. Marks from this test will not be counted in the final selection list.
Main Written Examination
The Main Written Examination is divided into Part A (General Knowledge – 40 marks, 80 questions) and Part B (Logical and Analytical sections – 30 marks, 60 questions), totaling 70 marks in 150 minutes. The pattern varies for open and departmental candidates, and a minimum of 25 marks (35%) is required to qualify.
Physical Efficiency Test
After certificate verification, candidates undergo the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Endurance Test (ET), both qualifying in nature. PMT is only for open quota candidates, while departmental candidates are exempted. ET is mandatory for both categories, and only those who clear it can appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which carries 15 marks and is applicable only to open quota candidates.
Viva-Voce
The Viva-Voce is the third stage of the TNUSRB SI 2025 selection process and is mandatory for both open and departmental quota candidates. Only those who clear Stage 2 can appear, and it carries 10 marks.
Special Marks
This is the fourth stage in the selection process of the TNUSRB SI 2025 recruitment process. Special marks for carrying NCC, NSS or any other sports/ games certificate are given to the candidates which will be added to their total marks in stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3 of the recruitment process before publishing the provisional cut-off list of the selected candidates.

TNUSRB SI Educational Qualification
As per the TNUSRB SI Notification 2025, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a UGC or Government-recognized University as of the date of notification. The qualification should be acquired through the academic pattern of 10+2+3/4/5 or 10+3+2/3 with proper progression. Degrees earned via Open or Distance Education are accepted only if they follow the required academic structure. Candidates who bypassed 9th or 11th standard and completed 10th or 12th directly are not eligible.
TNUSRB SI Physical Measurement Test
The Physical Measurement Test (PMT) is qualifying in nature and applicable only to open candidates. It includes height measurements for both men and women, while chest measurements are only for men. Ex-servicemen, serving military personnel retiring within a year, and Ex-CAPF are exempted from PMT. Candidates can appeal to the Sub-Committee Chairperson if they are not satisfied with their measurements.

TNUSRB SI Physical Endurance Test
According to the TNUSRB SI Notification 2025, the Endurance Test is a screening round in which candidates will have to clear in order to move on to the Physical Efficiency Test. Medical or personal reasons will not be entertained during this phase.

TNUSRB SI Syllabus 2025
The TNUSRB SI Syllabus 2025 comprises two main components. First is the Tamil Language Eligibility Test, which is qualifying in nature and assesses candidates' proficiency in Tamil at the 10th standard level.
The Main Written Examination includes sections on General Knowledge—covering topics like Science, History, Geography, Polity, Economics, and Current Affairs—and a Psychology Test that evaluates logical reasoning, numerical ability, and mental aptitude.
Departmental candidates also appear for similar subjects, along with additional topics such as Police Standing Orders and provisions under BNS, BNSS, and BSA.
TNUSRB SI Medical Test
Candidates must be in sound physical and mental health, free from bodily defects like knock knees, flat feet, or bow legs, and possess clear speech and good hearing. Medical standards include well-formed chest, healthy heart and lungs, proper joint movement, and sufficient teeth.
Vision must be 6/6 for distant and 0.5 for near in both eyes without glasses, with full field of vision; any eye defects, colour blindness, or history of Lasik/Laser eye surgeries will lead to disqualification.
A proper dot test will be conducted for vision assessment, and candidates must not show signs of chronic illness or malformations.
